Moc Bai Border Gate is Vietnam’s principal overland crossing on the route between Ho Chi Minh City and Phnom Penh. Located in Tay Ninh Province, it is used by international buses, private travelers and commercial traffic moving between Vietnam and Cambodia.
Planning a border journey
Travelers should confirm Cambodian visa requirements before leaving Ho Chi Minh City. Passport validity, entry permissions and accepted visa types can differ by nationality. Carry printed copies of accommodation details and onward travel plans in case they are requested during immigration procedures.
What happens at the border
A standard private transfer from Ho Chi Minh City normally ends near the Vietnamese checkpoint. Passengers complete exit formalities, cross the controlled border area and enter Cambodia according to official instructions. A separate Cambodian vehicle or through-transfer arrangement may be required for travel onward to Phnom Penh.
Private transfer to Moc Bai
Door-to-door pickup avoids traveling to a bus station with luggage and allows an early departure when the border is generally less busy. Provide every passenger’s travel date and intended onward connection when booking. Border waiting times cannot be guaranteed, so avoid arranging a tightly timed flight or appointment immediately after crossing.
